Things that have to be taken care of while doing product promotions in the online space:-

First of all you should have a thorough knowledge about the product, its working and its specifications. Engaging with the audience is the other important factor to be considered. Plainly explaining the product is not going to appeal the audience. It should be done in such a way that the users are able to get more information, that they are expecting on it. Presentation of the product should be done in such a way that the people who read it should be impressed with it.

You shouldn't describe the product with a marketing point of view. Today people are able to recognise the tone of the content or marketing people easily. If they recognise the marketing tactics behind it, then most of the time it is not easy to make them impress or make them buy it. Off course, there are people who are good in marketing and making the product sell with out any hindrance. But many people who lack such skills are not able to score in that area. Such people should change the tone of marketing. They have to explain the product in such a way that it just to make people aware of the existence of such product, and its benefits and its usage.

Showing reviews of those people who are using the product is also helpful in selling the product to the mass market.
